Brain Food: In The Kitchen with Haylee LaCroix | lululemon
We hear about superfoods, gut-healing foods, and anti-inflammatory foods, but what about food to fuel the brain? When it comes to what’s good for our grey matter we should focus on three things: eating brain-health boosting foods, digestion, and doing things that make us happy, according to chef Haylee LaCroix.
LaCroix is a nutritionist, herbalist, chocolatier, and head chef for our ambassador Kevin Pearce’s LoveYourBrain retreats. As far back as she can remember, LaCroix has been fascinated by food. The little girl in her plastic kitchen adding herbs to her “soups” soon moved on to helping her mom prepare meals in their kitchen in Duxbury, Vermont. She later graduated with a degree in nutrition and food sciences before becoming Pearce’s personal chef after his near-fatal brain injury.
We chatted with LaCroix at home in Carlsbad, California about why she started cooking specifically for brain health. She also shared some recipes that are good for the brain and, just as important, for the soul.
