It’s so nice to meet you.

I’m Alicia-Rae Light, a Vancouver-based freelance journalist, photographer, copywriter, and content strategist with a BA in Journalism—I’ve been fortunate to work in this industry and travel all seven continents doing what I love the most for the last 14 years.

I write about travel, conservation, sustainability, health and wellness, food, and culture. My work has appeared in Canadian Traveller, Canadian Geographic Travel, The Vancouver Sun, The Vancouver Province, BC Living Magazine, Canada.com, The Georgia Straight, Girlboss, amongst others.

As a copywriter—you name it, I’ve written about it. I frequently work with brands including lululemon, Kit and Ace, and Vega, and tech companies including Later and Optomi. I’ve worked on freelance projects focused on everything from rebranding, hotels and tour operators to working with various agencies to create marketing collateral, writ SEO optimized blog content, and everything from weekly email and social media campaigns for all kinds of companies from travel to real estate and finance.

I know my way around a camera as well—if you need travel content, I can be your one-stop shop!

When I’m not exploring my backyard in beautiful British Columbia by foot or kayak you’ll find me camping amongst penguins and fur seals in Antarctica, hiking to waterfalls and diving with sharks in the Fijian islands, searching for remote hot springs in Iceland, or enjoying a glass of malbec while reading a great travel memoir by the water.
